Sales & Marketing Coordinator / Intern
Company: House of Pickleball (HOP) – houseofpickleball.com (new website coming soon)
Location: Remote-first, with in-person HQ days in Leland, NC
Type: Part-Time Employment or Paid Internship (up to 20 hrs/wk)

Compensation: $15/hr + free HOP Pickleball Membership.

THE MISSION
You’re diving into the pickleball revolution on the NC coast—the brand that has them playing pickleball from 8am to 9pm seven days a week. You will work with the co-owner to help manage all aspects of marketing, advertising, events, and partnerships. While this is a very fun place to work, we are looking for a serious, dedicated person that has great communication skills (both verbal and written) and someone comfortable with Google Docs, Email and all things Social Media (FB, IG and YouTube).
Areas of Work
ADVERTISING SUPPORT
- Build & maintain spreadsheets of possible advertisers.
- Communicate with existing advertisers and partners as directed.
- Help install and remove advertising at the HOP.
SOCIAL MEDIA / WEB
- Help maintain our FB, IG and YouTube social media accounts.
- Write thumb-stopping ad/social copy, have a ‘Meme’ sense of humor
- Be able to learn how to use Canva and/or communicate with our design vendor
- Help update our new website (built in WordPress)
- Help create new campaigns around the HOP
PRO SHOP
- Document process to allow pro shop to scale in the HOP and possible online.
- Be involved in helping source, setup and merchandise our new pro shop.
- Work with PB Central and HOP front of house staff to train on POS and how to sell items to our members.
- Coordinate the development of our clothing and hats products.
- Help create and deploy customer surveys to better understand what merchandise we should sell.
EVENTS & EXPERIENTIAL
- Help support our quarterly events, tournaments and charity/community outreach efforts.
- Work with the co-owner to come up with event ideas and implement for our members.
BONUS SUPERPOWERS (NOT REQUIRED BUT LOVED)
- Video editing (CapCut, Final Cut, After Effects).
- Graphic design (Canva or Figma).
- On-camera charisma or stellar personality.
- Solid Pickleball knowledge or even better, a good pickleball player (3.5+).

Custodian – House of Pickleball (Leland, NC)
Position: Part-Time Custodian
Location: House of Pickleball, Leland, NC
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (After 8:00 PM or before 6:00 AM – 2-3 days a week)
Pay: $16 per hour, paid twice monthly
Job Summary:
The House of Pickleball (HOP) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented custodian to maintain the cleanliness and organization of our facility. This role is essential in ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors
Sweep, mop, and vacuum all facility floors, including pickleball courts using HOP equipment
Dust and wipe down surfaces, walls, vents, and other high-touch areas
Empty trash and restock supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and toilet paper
Maintain and organize storage areas for cleaning supplies
Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed (experience as a handyperson is a plus!)
Ensure all cleaning is completed efficiently during designated hours
Qualifications:
Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred
Ability to use vacuums, mops, and other cleaning equipment safely
Comfortable working independently and adhering to a cleaning schedule
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs as needed

Position Summary:

Responsible for managing the reception desk at The House of Pickleball through utilizing excellent customer service skills to assist existing members and newcomers.
Position Responsibilities:

Greets all incoming customers and determines their immediate needs.

Uses software to assist members with check in, making payments, managing courts and creating/changing memberships.

Explains pickleball programs, services, and equipment to members and assists them with determining their individual needs.

Responsible for the opening and/or closing procedures of the facility as directed.

Sells items for our Pro Shop.

Retrieves and distributes all voice mails left with front reception.

Performs cleaning duties daily to keep the lobby and restrooms clean.

Operates cash drawer and balance drawer at the end of each shift.

Helps to set up and break down for events, being present during events for additional work as needed.

Must be able to work weekends/holidays and evenings as required.

Performs other related duties as directed.
